To partner with Magnum and the High for the residency and exhibition was a wonderful experience which has resulted in a meaningful continuation of artistic discovery and arts philanthropy in Metropolitan Atlanta.”

Statement by By Gregory Harris, Associate Curator of Photography, High Museum of Art: Just before the High — along with so many other cultural institutions and businesses around the country — closed its doors due to the COVID-19 outbreak, we were preparing to open an exciting program at the Museum — the Magnum Live Lab. We’d spent over a year working with Magnum Photos, an international cooperative that represents some of the world’s top photographers and visual storytellers, and their Cultural Director, Pauline Vermare, to organize a residency at the Museum for three artists, Carolyn Drake (American, born 1971), Lindokuhle Sobekwa (South African, born 1995), and Mikhael Subotzky (South African, born 1981).
